JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about food, are eager to learn and work hard, and bring good energy to work. We offer a structured training program as well as flexible schedules to support your other goals.  Experience is preferred, but we value enthusiasm, passion, and work ethic and are willing to train the right person.

At Sofra, you will –

• Pack prepared food items, including but not limited to cookies, nuts, granola, spices, meze, dried fruits, and blended spices.
• Update pars on Toast.
• Assist front of house team with ensuring retail shelves are full and communicating shortages to Cafe Manager.
• Ensure cold case is properly stocked, dated, FIFO’ed, and neatly organized.
• With assistance from the Chef de Cuisine, determine and create prep lists for the daily and weekly packing lists, including but not limited to cold case items, and CSR items.
• Complete daily and weekly prep lists with priority in mind.
• Pack cookie pre-orders and ensure timely delivery to pick up station.
• Put together orders and deliver goods via delivery truck between both Sofra locations (Allston + Cambridge)
• Assist in blending spices with FOH Manager.
• Assist with packing holiday orders.
• Ensure adherence to Sofra’s standards in every aspect of packing, including quality, consistency, accuracy, rotation, storage, appearance, timeliness, and efficiency.
• Ensure proper stocking, organization, and cleaning of packing station, including but not limited to containers, stickers, labels, etc. Print labels and stickers as needed.
• Maintain strong communication with all departments on pars, quality, production, time management, stock, and ordering of station supplies. Write items needed on white board.
• Uphold Sofra’s established goals, values, and culture to achieve the highest quality standards of customer service and hospitality.
• Assist team in additional tasks as needed.

Qualified candidates will –

• Be able to read and follow written recipes, deal successfully with multitasking and be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment

• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift at least 35 pounds, at shoulder height
• Able to move around the cafė carrying weight up to 35 pounds up and down stairs in small space
• Have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a clean driving record

• $21-25/hour that includes a percentage of our kitchen appreciation fee
