Trillium – Event Supervisor

Trillium is seeking an Event Floor Supervisor with proven experience in event management and execution to join our team at our Fort Point location. This position will be responsible for producing events from conception through completion, with an emphasis on execution. This role will follow-up on leads and proactively generate new event business through a variety of avenues. The ideal candidate personifies the fundamental elements of hospitality and has a passion for creating memorable experiences.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute private events including overseeing setup and breakdown, taking payments, communicating with the kitchen, staff, and host of the event
  • Work with the private event manager to coordinate and execute programming events such as fitness classes, live music, etc.
  • Manage staff responsible for event coordination activities
  • Train and educate staff on proper event procedures
  • Create and sustain productive relationships and negotiate contracts with event-related clients, vendors, companies and supporters
  • Assist the management team to develop, implement and execute overall revenue initiatives
  • Ensure the highest level of service to guests
  • Coordinate reservation confirmations for special and holiday events for parties of eight people or more in the restaurant
  • Perform general office duties to support Forever Home (e.g., filing, sending emails, typing, faxing, and copying)
  • Communicate with scheduling manager to ensure events are staffed appropriately
  • Work with other departments to help execute pop up, collaboration, and larger Trillium events
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Desired Qualifications & Abilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in hospitality or event management
  • Portfolio of previously managed events (weddings, meetings, parties, corporate events)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent personal, verbal, written communication
  • Organized and efficient with great attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal staff relations and leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate clearly, with composure and enthusiasm, to customers and staff
  • Willing to work a flexible weekend schedule (Friday-Sunday) including nights and holidays
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Move lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance
  • Extensive knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision
