Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar South Boston – Managers

Loco is looking for a hospitality minded individual who will drive great guest experiences at our funky neighborhood Taqueria and Oyster Bar. Our management team works together, bringing varying skills, backgrounds and perspectives on restaurants. We appreciate hospitality, restaurant experience, and a passion for nightlife. Scope & General Purpose: Support all facets of daily operations, while creating great guest experiences, leading and coaching staff, and upholding all procedures related to music, entertainment and nightlife. Restaurant Managers should have a passion for killer food and rocking hospitality!

Reports to: Johnny McNamara, General Manager

Schedule: Full-time, Wednesday – Sunday

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • During service, seek to make sure all FOH staff are delivering superior service. Be present at the front door, tableside and communicate efficiently to BOH team members
  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations, providing leadership and supervision of all team members
  • Support the recruitment and hiring of FOH employees, seeking personable, talented individuals who will add to the Loco brand and culture
  • Train new and current employees on steps of service and best guest relations practices, taking special interest in detail oriented work that creates great guest experiences
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to guest feedback and complaints, both in person and digitally
  • Regularly review the Loco product (food, beverage, service, facility) and seek to innovate, improve and maximize consistency
  • Follow all HR best practices, connected to hiring, training, development, discipline & termination
  • Impact staff performance, offering coaching and feedback to improve productivity and support growth
  • Contribute to monthly inventory of all goods, kitchen utensils and cleaning products, and order products and supplies smartly when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation and safety regulations, both daily, weekly and looking at the yearly calendar
  • Represent Loco in the local community through guest relationships, restaurant events and promotional opportunities
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in hospitality and / or Restaurant management
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform guests and service staff
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Must be comfortable standing/walking for 8 hours; and be able to bend, push, pull and/or lift 30 lbs

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Prior restaurant service experience appreciated
  • Excellent hospitality and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude, sense of urgency, willingness to develop in the role

Other Position Requirements:

  • Availability to work nights and weekends
  • Interest in developing knowledge of restaurant service, beverage, safety, and sanitation practices
  • Able to work well in team-oriented environment
