Verveine Café & Bakery in Central Square, Cambridge is seeking motivated and passionate part-time cashiers to join our team. As a cashier, you play a vital role in our operations, greeting guests, taking orders, remember names and faces, and turning first timers into regulars.
Responsibilities:
- Excellent customer service and maintain mindful and detail-oriented hospitality when greeting guests and taking orders
- Cashier for POS and manage online orders
- Answering guest questions about menu choices
- Prepare coffee and other beverages, as requested
- Set up and break down stations
- Slicing, bagging, and packaging product for display and deliveries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment – follow all safety and sanitation protocols
- Cross training for other stations and light food prep, as needed
- Collaborate effectively with other staff members, assisting as needed, and learning diverse skills
Skills and Requirements:
- No experience is necessary, if you are willing to learn!
- Must be a source of positivity, curious, creative, willing to learn, and ask questions
- Engaging, warm, and welcoming communication skills and presence
- Able to maintain the highest of standards of quality, presentation, sanitation, and safety
- Work well with direction, but able to take initiative and be independent
- Highly organized with high attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively to meet production schedules
- Must be a team collaborator, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to contribute to create a culture and work environment based on respect and support
- Flexibility to work early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts
