Chattermark Distillers Dinner

The Smoke Shop Harvard Square/Eventbrite

Why go to the south for whiskey when we have perfectly lovely bourbon in barrels right in the Boston area? The team at The Smoke Shop in Harvard Square can tell you all about it on Friday, May 17th as they welcome the founder and owner of Chattermark Distillers, John Sorgini, for an evening of whiskey tasting and BBQ eatin’.

Sorgini started Chattermark in 2019 in Charlestown as a “grain to glass” operation, sourcing grain and other ingredients directly from New England farmers to produce premium spirits that are fun to sip on their own or as the base of a tasty cocktail. For this evening, you’ll get to try three of their spirits including their Straight Bourbon Whiskey (a double pot distilled four grain treasure), their Straight Rye Whiskey (aged through the New England seasons for a full flavor profile), and their brand new Straight Corn Whiskey, which was just released. You’ll get a welcome cocktail when you arrive at 6:30pm, and there’ll be a three-course dinner of chef Andy Husbands’ legendary barbecue to keep your tastebuds going strong.

Grab tickets here for $70 each. Your fee includes all your food, the tasting, and your facetime with Sorgini. Don’t forget that there are more than 200 other whiskies on the wall at the ‘Shop, so you can always stick around at the bar after dinner and do a little more research if you’d like, too. Give the Harvard Square location a call at 617.547.7427 if you have any Qs, be sure to keep an eye on their website for all the dinners, classes, and events going on this spring and summer, and follow them on Instagram for their Whiskey Wednesday announcements.
