If you’ve been dying for a spot with small-scale, natural wines and locally-sourced eats in the western suburbs, your time has come in Dedham now that Few & Far is open at 566 High Street.

The newest venture from the dynamic duo behind Forage in Cambridge — Stan Hilbert and chef Eric Cooper — is an intimate, neighborhood eatery that takes its cues from what’s fresh and in season right now, with nearly everything on the plates sourced in New England. “We’re an ingredient-based cuisine. That’s why our menu will change more or less every day,” said Cooper. The opening menu features late spring flavors like Kale and Wheatberry Salad with Charred Onions, Sweet Potatoes and Sunflower Ranch; Main Grains Risotto with Mushrooms, Fiddleheads and Sage & Pistachio Pesto; and Hanger Steak with Rutabaga Mash, Swiss Chard and Hazelnut & Nettle Sauce. Check out the full menu below, which even includes small plates for kiddos.

Of course there will be plenty of small-batch, organic, biodynamic and natural wines from all over the world to explore, like those found at Forage’s weekly wine dinners and at Hilbert’s Satellite Bottle Shop next door at 570 High Street. Plus Few & Far will be the spot for a proper cocktail when you’re in Dedham Square, whether it’s a classic dry martini or an If There’s Smoke (Mezcal, Ancho Reyes Verde, Aloe, Cucumber).

The space was designed by Thayer Design Studio with cool earth tones, dark accents, crisp subway tiling, and modern fixtures to give the room a relaxed and elegant feel that’s perfect for a glass of wine after work or an intimate weekend get together. Pull up a chair at the cozy bar and watch your cocktail come to life, or find a spot on the long banquette with traditional table seating.

Few & Far is open Wednesday through Sunday for now from 5:00 to 10:30 for dinner. You can make reservations here or by giving them a call at 781.747.7142. If you have any Qs you can drop them an email here, and be sure to follow their IG and sign up for their newsletter on the website to stay up to date on all the happenings this summer.
