Vermilion – Host

The Host is responsible for crafting exceptional guest experiences and memories as well as maintaining the JF standards of service within the F&B outlet.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Host is responsible for the brokerage of relationships between guests and the JFR team. This includes, however is not limited to the following:

  • Exercise good judgment and decision making in escalating concerns and aggressively resolving issues
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus
  • Compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes as well as Company safety and security policies
  • Creating an energetic front door experience
  • Providing attentiveness and excellent service to VIP guests
  • Increasing sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and prompt problem resolution with special attention to guest experience at the front door.
  • Exercising good judgment and decision making in escalating concerns and aggressively resolving issues
  • Greeting and engaging guests in a warm and professional manner
  • Operating reservation system to maximize covers and smooth flow of guests
  • Coordinating effective flow of guests and staff for a variety of events and high-volume services
  • Communicating effectively with management, host, and dining room teams
  • Estimating wait times for guests and maintaining the guest wait list
  • Creating buzz about the restaurant by demonstrating knowledge of service, food and beverage offerings
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of key relationships with residents, guests, concierges, and partners
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the business:

  • Participate as a team player with other key team members including setting tables, participating in on-site and off-site events, and creative contribution.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate and make genuine connections
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Maintaining a cordial demeanor when under pressure
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, and reach. The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand for long periods of time. The employee is required to use dominate hand coordination for simple grasping, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation. The employee is also required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulder level. The employee may be required to travel to other floors using stairs multiple times during shift. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
