Steel, Sizzle & Style

Les Dames d'Escoffier Boston

Fans of the “blind basket” style culinary competition in “Iron Chef” and “Chopped,” grab a ticket for Steel Sizzle & Style on Thursday, May 2nd in Milford. Two great local food nonprofits, Les Dames d’Escoffier Boston and The Epicurean Club, are teaming up for the fabulous evening of fundraising at the Clarke Showroom, which will match up some of Boston’s best chefs in a friendly competition to create a dish from a secret selection of ingredients on the fly. Don’t miss this chance to get in on all the action as Basil Freddura and Jesse McNally from The Daily Catch, Patricia Estorino from Gustazo Restaurant Group, Tony Le from White Cliffs Country Club, and Eric LaBlanc from Red Heat Tavern strut their stuff from 6:00 to 9:00pm.

While the chefs are doing their thing you’ll get to graze from an array of delicious bites from Gustazo, Red Heat Tavern, Smithfield Foods, Ocean Spray, The Bone Sauce (chef Joe Johnson), Basic Batch Donuts, and you’ll have a chance to meet Elle Simone Scott of America’s Test Kitchen who will be signing her new book, Food Gifts. Next generation chefs will also get to meet “Chopped Teen” champion Lyana Cintron, who has parlayed her win into a career in Michelin starred restaurants. There’ll be a cash bar serving up lovely wines and local craft brews, plus a silent auction, and you’ll get to take a peek at some of the latest in kitchen design and appliances.

Not only will the evening be a tasty good time, your ticket price will also help fund scholarships for promising culinary students and fight food insecurity in the community, so you can feel good about grabbing a ticket here for $50 for general admission, or upgrade to a VIP ticket for $75, which includes a free drink ticket and goodie bag. If you want to find out more about the good work that Les Dames d’Escoffier Boston and The Epicurean Club are up to, check out their websites here and here, and if you have any Qs you can reach out via email.
