Hook + Line – Food Runner

Offering panoramic views of the Boston Harbor and skyline, Hook + Line will be a seafood centric, champagne drenched gathering place in the Seaport. Hook + Line is high octane and high energy, with an all day marketplace, expansive restaurant and menu driven by fresh catch, vendor partnerships and high end whimsy reflected through food.

Mission: The Food Runner is the liaison between the kitchen and dining room staff to ensure that every guest receives the best quality of food products in an efficient, professional and friendly manner according to restaurant guidelines and standards. They ensure that all take out orders are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Maintains detailed knowledge of physical layout of dining rooms and bar including table and seat numbers.

Management Structure: Reports to the General Manager, and all other Hook + Line Managers

Responsibilities:

  • Assists Servers with delivering food to guests and Bussers with clearing tables, as needed.
  • Completes all assigned opening/closing side work to prepare kitchen, take out station and service stations for efficient operation during work shifts. Ensures organized food take out area in the kitchen and related service areas during work shifts.
  • Maintains and applies full knowledge of all menus, kitchen procedures, product guidelines and standards, floor plan and seating charts as well as other restaurant information, such as restaurant hours, address etc.
  • Ensures that table settings and guests are accurately and promptly prepared and ready to receive each course.
  • Balances and prioritizes running side work with the immediate needs of the restaurant, deferring to our guests’ comfort over all.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • High integrity and professionalism
  • A positive, joyful, upbeat, and energetic attitude – leading by example
  • Comfortable standing/walking for 8 hours, and be able to bend, push, pull, and/or lift 30 lbs.
