Brought to life by Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli, who has been wowing West Enders with Alcove for years, the 1-2 punch eatery and accompanying fish market in the rapidly growing neighborhood is as fresh as the catches coming in every morning in both style and substance.

Simple, elegant seafood is the focus of the menus, including an array of small plates, salads, and crudos, plus substantial mains from the wood-fired grill including some larger format plates. You can also round out your feast with some New England mainstays (think: lobster rolls, fish & chips), as well as hearty sides. If you’re looking for something special to sip, you can choose from a sizable selection of seasonal cocktails, rickeys, and spirit-free concoctions, plus there are several seafood-friendly wines by the glass and half bottle, as well as a deep bench of local beers and ciders. Schlesinger-Guidelli is also a major wine guy, so the curated bottle list with a mix of heavy hitting favorites and lesser-known producers is not to be missed.

The restaurant space is decidedly modern, with a large, open feel in the dining room. There’s a large window peering into the open kitchen so you can peep the chefs piling wood into the fire, plus a long bar with several seats. The oceanic color scheme is awash in seafoam greens and deep blues, accented with light blonde wood and pops of color. There’s plenty of space in the main dining room for a group or to tuck away for an intimate dinner, or you can book the private dining room for a more intimate event. There’s also a harborside patio to take in the water views during the warmer months. The market features clean, bright marble and tiling around the refrigerated fish cases, plus a custom neon sign behind the counter.
