Area Four – Baker

Area Four, trendy wood-fired restaurant and café offering gourmet pizzas, a wide selection of craft beer, house made pastries, desserts, and local roasted coffee, is currently looking for a seasonal full time baker to join there team for there busy café in Kendall Square.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hospitality. They must be detail-oriented, and professional. They must want to grow in this industry and have a passion for baking. They work hard, lead by example, and has a drive for uplifting and motivating their team. This position is incredibly hands-on and fast paced. Must be able to work as a team and independently.

Area Four makes everything in house from croissants, bagels, focaccia, English muffins and cookies. We strive for excellence in what we do. And have a real passion for it.

  • 6AM-2PM Daily schedule
  • Must be able to work one weekend day a week.
  • Either Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat.

Baker/Pastry cook Responsibilities includes

  • Daily baking productions of dough’s (croissant, bagel, English Muffin), cookies, batters /quick breads, dessert bars etc…for the restaurant and café
  • Assisting with putting away vendor orders
  • Helping maintain a clean and orderly kitchen
  • Helping of the morning bake off.

Baker/Pastry cook Qualifications

  • Must have at least 2 years experience in baking and pastry/Culinary in a Bakery Café or Restaurant setting and/or have graduated from culinary school.
  • Must be able to lift 50#
  • Must be able to be on there feet for 8 hours.
  • Must be able to multi task.
