Levitate Backyard – Prep Lead/Line Lead

The Levitate backyard is coming in hot for summer 2024 with an all new menu and culinary first approach on top of the daily live music and ticketed shows we’ve been serving up for the last 4 years. We’re looking for a fun-loving, hard working, culinary obsessed Prep Lead / Line Lead to hop in on the action and lead our teams to glory when our Kitchen and Prep Manager are not present. You’ll lead the line crew for 2 days per week and guide the Prep crew to success 3 days a week, all while keeping morale high for your team in a fast paced, stoke filled environment. You’d start ASAP, helping to tie things together before our opening date on May 17th, with work available through the holidays (Jan 1 2025). Hours:

  • 3x Prep Lead shifts (AM)
  •  2x Line Lead Shifts (PM

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prep:

  • When Food and Beverage Manager is not present, Oversee and manage all areas of food preparation for restaurant while following food sanitation and regulatory guidelines when food and beverage manager is not present
  • Serve as the leader for your prep team, ensuring they output the best possible product while keeping things uptempo
  • Assist Manager in orientation, and the training of new prep employees.
  • Intake deliveries and stock raw product and disposables in accordance with HACCP plan when Food and Beverage Manager is not present
  • Cook and prepare all menu items for our restaurant and event locations as needed for service
  • Work with Food and Beverage Manager to create and ensure all private events menus are executed
  • Manage a team of prep cooks to ensure food service goals are met
  • Assist Manager in orientation, and the training of new prep employees.
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.

On the Line:

  • Service as Expo and Kitchen Lead on days Kitchen lead is not present
  • Set the benchmark for exceptional work ethic and attitude for your team, fostering a positive, excellence oriented work environment for your employees
  • Assist Manager in orientation, and the training of new employees.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and storage areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Ensure consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Help Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.
  • Work with the Food and Beverage Manager for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
  • Communicates inventory needs at the end of each shift.
  • Supervise portion controlling and quantities of preparation for food service to minimize waste and track waste using waste log
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured.

Customer Service:

  • Ensure positive guest experience by outputting exceptional product and handling any customer issues related to food with a human first approach
  • Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied customers into satisfied customers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours may vary if needed to fill in for employees or if emergencies arise (typical work week = 35-45 hours).
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers and other office equipment.
