Marseille – Sous Chef

We are currently recruiting a qualified Sous Chef or an opportunity for an Executive Sous Chef to join our Culinary Team at Marseille in the South End of Boston. Under guidance of our restaurant’s Executive Chef, Robert Fathman, you will deliver a high-quality menu and motivate our staff to provide excellent guest service. Alongside the rest of the Culinary Team, you will ensure efficient restaurant operations, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and guest-service standards. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our restaurant’s reputation for exceptional culinary standards. Your leadership and passion for food will drive our success for our guests’ dining experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership: Lead by example, inspiring and motivating your team to provide excellent service and consistently meet performance standards.
  • Operations: Oversee day to day operations, including scheduling, inventory management and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, train, and develop your management and hourly teams, providing coaching and feedback to foster their growth and success.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food and beverages meet our quality standards and adhere to our recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Guest Experience: Collaborate with restaurant FOH management team to ensure a seamless guest experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Sous Chef of a full service restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and team building-building skills.
  • Excellent communication-building skills.
  • A passion for the restaurant industry and dedication to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with restaurant software and point-of-sale systems.

Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
