Café Sushi’s Shoten—our retail and grab-and-go concept—is looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Team Member to join our growing front-of-house team. Shoten is the first touchpoint for many of our guests, offering high-quality sushi, curated Japanese pantry goods, sake, beer, and warm, genuine hospitality in a fast-paced retail environment.
Availability Required: Tuesday–Saturday
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a guest-facing setting, enjoys staying organized, and takes pride in keeping the shop running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Provide warm, welcoming, and efficient service to guests.
- Operate the POS system for retail and grab-and-go transactions.
- Restock shelves, fridge items, and retail displays throughout the day.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and visually appealing shop environment.
- Assist with labeling, packaging, and rotating product (FIFO).
- Help manage pickup orders and accurately bag takeout and delivery orders.
- Maintain clear communication with BOH and Nisei FOH teams.
- Uphold Café Sushi’s hospitality standards and guest experience.
Requirements
- Availability Thursday through Saturday (required).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during rush periods.
- Comfort learning POS systems and basic retail procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle light lifting (up to ~25 lbs).
- Interest in Japanese cuisine, sushi, or sake is a plus—enthusiasm is even better.
