Back Bar, an award winning craft cocktail bar in Union Square, Somerville is seeking a full time bartender to round out its small but mighty team. Candidates must have:
- 2 years experience *behind* a bar.
- Generalized spirits knowledge, including a comprehensive understanding of core denominations of origin (e.g. Tequila, Scotch, Bourbon, etc.)
- Comfortability with foundational technique and best practice, such as round-building from bottom up.
- Familiarity with the canon of core cocktails, both classic and modern.
- Experience with extended techniques such as clarification and fat-washing.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative program in which learning, teaching, and guest priority are equally undying tenets.
- Hospitality driven attitude, with a desire to provide memorable experiences to guests
- An ability to remain calm and polished in a fast paced- high pressure environment.
- Full availability – Tuesday through Sunday starting at 2pm
- Flexibility to cycle through all positions of the space i.e. Main Bar, Service Bar, Host, and Floor.
