Who has the best fried chicken recipe in Boston? There’s only one way to find out. Head to Lincoln Tavern in Southie on Wednesday, June 17th for Spoonfuls’ epic Fried Chicken Face-Off. This year’s culinary showdown pits chef Lambert Givens of Hunter’s Kitchen & Bar against chef Alex Sáenz of Taqueria El Barrio, El Barrio Tortillas & Salsas and Hemlock Grill, so it’s gonna be a nail biter. Starting at 6:00pm, the chefs will put their takes on fried chicken up for a head-to-head live cooking competition where the audience gets the final say, so if you have strong feelings about fried chicken this is your night to be heard.
Battle of the Bites is more than just a fun night out however. Monies from ticket sales helps support Spoonfuls’ mission to recover and distribute food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, with each dollar providing more than one pound of food to the community, so it’s a win/win.
