Backyard BBQ How-To

The Smoke Shop

Someone’s gotta host the family reunion this year, and if that someone is you, don’t panic, because chef Andy Husbands is ready to save the day. On Saturday, June 20th, at The Smoke Shop in Somerville’s Assembly Row, Husbands will show you how to throw a stress-free backyard barbecue that’s just as fun for the grillmaster as it is for the guests.

Get ready to learn everything from planning a menu to feeding a crowd with confidence in this two-plus hour class. There’ll also be plenty of amazing recipes and techniques to tackle including steak tip skewers, a burger bar, twice-smoked chicken sliders with mustard slaw, South Shore pizza and Clams à la Chris Hart, a dish inspired by one of Husbands’ closest friends. Of course we all know the ‘Shop has one of the best whiskey collections around, so of course they’re including a whiskey tasting or cocktail demo.

Backyard BBQ Class costs $125 per person and the fun kicks off at 11:30am. If you’re looking to take your grill game even further, you can also add a signed copy of The Smoke Shop’s Backyard BBQ cookbook for an extra $21. Grab tickets on the restaurant website, and give the Assembly Row location a call at 617.623.7427 if you have any Qs.
