Forklift Catering in Needham, MA, US is seeking an experienced and passionate Prep Cook to join our team. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing food in our commissary for all off-site events. Responsibilities

• Set up workstation according to company guidelines.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, presentation, packaging, labeling and delivery specifications as set by the company.
• Cleans and maintains station while practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills.
• Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in commissary.
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas. Some dishwashing may be required.
• Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager at any time.

Job expectations:

• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures. ServSafe Certified preferred.
• Previous catering prep or line cook experience.
• Professional communications skills are required.
• Ability to take direction.
• Ability to read and understand basic recipes and cooking directions.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.
• Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
