
Darling is currently seeking a new Executive Chef to join their team.
Located in Central Square, Cambridge, Darling opened in July 2025, serving a rotating menu of hyper seasonal and innovative cocktails alongside Dim Sum inspired small plates in an intimate and lively setting. We are excited to speak with like-minded individuals who are passionate about food, beverage, and hospitality and are interested in the prospect of being a part of a small but mighty team, owned and operated by veterans of the Boston restaurant community.
Ideal candidates should be highly motivated and self sufficient with experience managing all aspects of kitchen operations. Experience in Asian cuisine is highly preferred. In addition to competitive pay, there is significant opportunity for growth within the company.
Interested candidates should be prepared to oversee the following responsibilities:
- Lead in the hiring, training, scheduling and oversight of all back of house staff members.
- Take initiative and work to develop solutions to problems that pertain to your department.
- Establish and maintain back of house standards including mise en place, technique, plating and recipe execution.
- Provide continuing menu education for front and back of house teams.
- Lead by example – help build and maintain a positive culture and treat others with kindness and respect.
- Contribute the menu changes with consideration to creativity, concept, and cost.
- Oversee ordering, receiving, inventory management and cost control.
- Be regularly involved in prep, line cooking, and expediting.
- Follow all necessary regulations and guidelines regarding food handling and sanitation.
- Review monthly P & L’s and utilize information to make informed decisions regarding purchasing, menu development and staffing.
Requirements
- Night and weekend availability.
- Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of culinary, safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
