Two Pence Market is looking for a dependable porter/prep person to help keep the kitchen clean, organized, stocked, and running smoothly.
This role is essential to the operation. You’ll be responsible for dishwashing, sanitation, trash and recycling, keeping equipment and workspaces clean, and helping the kitchen team with prep projects throughout the day.
The right person is:
- Reliable and hardworking
- Fast, organized, and detail-oriented
- Has the ability to stand for extended periods and move between multiple kitchens including navigating stairs
- Team-focused with a good attitude
- Able to switch between cleaning and prep tasks as needed
- Someone who takes pride in keeping a kitchen running well
Responsibilities include:
- Dishwashing and maintaining dish station organization
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and surfaces
- Sweeping, mopping, trash, recycling, and general upkeep
- Receiving and putting away deliveries
- Assisting with basic food prep and packaging
- Helping maintain overall kitchen organization and flow
This is a great role for someone looking to grow in kitchens and learn production systems in a supportive environment.
AM and PM hours available. Competitive pay based on experience, starting at $17/hour.

Two Pence Market is a new all-day market, cafe, and prepared foods shop opening Summer 2026 in Milton Lower Mills. We are conveniently located at the Milton Landing Red Line Trolley stop. The market is housed in a beautifully restored 1922 bank building at the corner of Adams and Eliot Streets, boasting historic character—including original woodwork, chandeliers, a fireplace, and the former bank vault, now transformed into a curated bottle shop—with a fresh, chef-driven vision.
Two Pence Market will feature seasonal produce, specialty groceries, prepared foods, a coffee and espresso bar, smoothies, house-made bagels, an ice cream window, and outdoor patio seating. Our goal is to breathe new life into a local landmark while creating a vibrant gathering place for the Milton Village and Lower Mills communities.
