If you’re always on the hunt for a restaurant discovery you won’t want to miss the return of SRV’s Cicchetti Takeover series on Tuesday, June 16th. This time around, chef George Mendes will be serving up complimentary bites from his upcoming concepts, Agosto and Baby Sister, before they open later this year in the South End, so make a beeline to the bacaro and bar room area of the restaurant between 5:30 to 7:30pm to sample dishes from both restaurants, which by the way does count as celebrating Portuguese Heritage Month.
If you’ve never been, the Cicchetti Takeover series brings together SRV executive chef Matt Ostheimer and a rotating lineup of visiting chefs for Venetian-style snacks paired with SRV’s eclectic beverage program. It’s also a great excuse to check out the restaurant’s recently remodeled bar, which now features a dedicated cicchetti station. The takeovers are all free and open to the public, no reservations needed, and seating available first-come, first-served. Give them a call if you have any Qs at 617.536.9500, and if you feel like sticking around for dinner after the tasting, grab them here.
