Concord Restaurant Group – Corporate Pastry Chef

Concord Restaurant Group, responsible for the Woods Hill brand of restaurants – Woods Hill Table, Woods Hill Pier 4, and The Block at Woods Hill, as well as Adelita, seeks a corporate pastry chef to lead our program.

Concord Restaurant Group is consistently recognized as one of Boston’s leaders in farm to table fine dining. Woods Hill Pier 4 holds a Michelin Recommendation, and all restaurants are recipients of Best of Boston awards in multiple years.

Our pastry program is based out of our Concord Woods Hill location, and is a Monday through Friday daytime position. Our corporate pastry chef spends time at all restaurants quality checking, staff training and integrating with the various teams, and is an essential role for our expanding group. This position works closely with the Executive Chef, Charlie Foster, to conceptualize, cost, source, execute and maintain a diverse pastry offering for four unique concepts, as well as a significant events program. The corporate pastry chef has a team working directly under them and is responsible for scheduling and training, as well as maintaining organizational and sanitary standards.

Qualifications:

  • ServSafe Certified.
  • Massachusetts Allergy Certified.
  • At least 3 years prior Pastry Chef experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • At least 2 years prior plated dessert experience in an upscale dining restaurant.
  • Experience in taking inventory, maintaining food cost, maintaining labor cost, and accurate recipe creation.
  • Strong knowledge of American ‘classic’ desserts and a broad knowledge of French pastry and baking techniques (batters, dough, tarts, mousse, cakes, ice creams, sorbets, cookies, and decorative work). Knowledge of creating and storing preserves.
  • Ability to lead and teach others including apprentices and service staff.
  • Participate in menu creation across multiple venues.
