
Ironwood Hingham – Sous Chef (Banquet Experience Preferred)

Ironwood Hingham, an independent, scratch-made, seasonally inspired restaurant located at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham, MA, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team.
This role is ideal for a chef who thrives in both à la carte and banquet environments, has a strong foundation in structured kitchen operations, and is passionate about developing teams while maintaining high culinary standards. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with fresh ingredients and takes pride in the craftsmanship that comes with a true scratch kitchen.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Kitchen Manager
- Banquet and event experience strongly preferred
- Experience working within structured kitchen systems, including recipe adherence, prep organization, inventory management, and maintaining consistency across service periods
- Passion for scratch cooking and working with fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
- Positive attitude and collaborative approach to teamwork
Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations
- Support menu execution for both restaurant and banquet functions
- Supervise and develop kitchen team members
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and execution
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and cost control
- Maintain compliance with all sanitation and safety standards
