Captain Marden’s Seafoods is looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join our team as a Fishmonger/Fish Market Associate.

Whether you have experience in restaurants, butcher shops, specialty food retail, or another customer-focused food environment, we’d love to meet you. Seafood experience is not required—we’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, great customer service skills, and a willingness to learn. We’ll teach you the rest.
One of the biggest advantages of this position is the schedule. You’ll work daytime hours (approximately 8:00 AM–6:00 PM) with no late nights, making it an ideal opportunity for hospitality professionals looking for a better work-life balance without leaving the food industry.
Schedule
- Full-time (5 days per week)
- Approximately 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
- No night shifts
- Must be available to work at least one weekend day each week
- Holiday availability is required. Certain holidays are mandatory workdays unless time off is approved well in advance.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and portion fresh seafood for retail sale
- Maintain a beautiful, fully stocked seafood showcase
- Deliver exceptional customer service and help customers choose the best seafood for their needs
- Receive and properly store incoming seafood deliveries
- Keep all work areas clean, organized, and food-safe
- Assist with daily cleaning and sanitation throughout the market
- Work as part of a team to uphold the high standards Captain Marden’s is known for
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service required
- Knife skills and a willingness to continue developing them
- Ability to stand for extended periods (6 hours)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- ServSafe Certification preferred, but not required
- Professional appearance and a commitment to maintaining excellent personal hygiene and food safety standards
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and eager to learn
