During the month of January, the Greater Boston Food Bank goes all out with a stellar line-up of fundraising events – get the whole scoop on the Super Hunger Chef Challenge, Super Hunger Brunch and their spectacular online auction, which starts on January 17th.
Four Seasons chef Brooke Vosika hosts the Super Hunger Chef Challenge, pitting master chef against master chef, on Thursday, January 24th. Using food stocked by The Greater Boston Food Bank, local talent Jody Adams of Rialto and Marc Orfaly of Pigalle and Marco will face off against TV celebrity chef Jon Ashton as they each vie for the title of Super Hunger Chef. While the ingredients fly, guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a lavish sit-down dinner. Tickets for the event, which gets underway at 6:00pm, cost $250 each and can be purchased by calling 617.427.5200.
Chefs from nearly thirty of Boston’s top restaurants throw their weight behind the Greater Boston Food Bank signature event, Super Hunger Brunch, on Saturday, January 26th and Sunday, January 27th. On either day, restaurants will be donating the proceeds from specially designed prix fixe brunch menus (priced at $25, $35 or $50 per person). Make reservations at spots like Blue Ginger, Chez Henri, Davio’s, Eastern Standard, EVOO, The Fireplace, Great Bay, Grill 23 & Bar, Hamersley’s, Icarus, Kingfish Hall, L’Espalier, Mare, Pigalle, Rialto, Rocca, Sel de la Terre, Sibling Rivalry and Tosca. Fight hunger with the click of a button at the Greater Boston Food Bank’s online auction, which runs from Thursday, January 17th through Sunday, January 27th. Bid on culinary-themed items like a Chef’s Whim Dinner at Craigie Street Bistrot or a Chef’s Tasting Menu for two (complete with wine pairings) at Lumière.
