High Tea at Cafe Fleuri

The Langham Hotel, in the tradition of their legendary flagship location in London, introduces signature afternoon tea service in the L’Orangerie of Café Fleuri. Served daily from 3:00-4:30pm, the afternoon tea menu offers an assortment of tea, scones, tea sandwiches, pastries and plated signature desserts in three tea service selections each named after celebrated English properties – there’s the Hampton Court Palace for $18 per person, the Windsor Castle for $24 per person; and the Buckingham Palace for $36 per person. Pastry chef Alejandro Luna‘s starts each tea service off with house made herbal lemon tea and mint sorbet served with an edible tuile cookie teaspoon, followed by fresh scones with strawberry preserves and clotted cream. Chef John Lambiase‘s tea sandwich menu features traditional English specialties like house-smoked Atlantic salmon on Boston brown bread with chive butter; sliced ham on a crumpet with a sunny-side quail egg and chive aioli; and tarragon grilled sweet shrimp and crisp radish bruschetta with lemon-scented clotted cream. They’ve got just about any type of tea you can imagine, including two High Arts teas (available for an additional $5). These rare display teas are presented in a glass teapot. The handsewn leaves unfurl into beautiful flowers – Jasmine Fairy Maidens (tall white flower) and Seven Deadly Sins (red flower with a white crown). Call the Langham at 451.1900 (extension 7092) to make reservations.
