Hamersley’s Updates

As one of the original French bistros in the South End’s now flourishing culinary community, Hamersley’s has earned itself a little pretension. From its slightly set back perch on Tremont St., Hamersley’s does seem to reign over the South End’s restaurant row. But its comfortable, floral-tapestried dining room and accessible menu show it to be an elegant New England translation of the homey, family-run country bistros of France – and utterly lacking in pretension. This time around chef Gordon Hamersley allowed us to photograph his famous roast chicken – a perfect example of the simple, satisfying and hearty fare one expects from Hamersley’s.
