Fans of the iconic South End restaurant, Stella, will be delighted to hear that Chef Evan Deluty and his team are back at a new location in Newton. The restaurant, which had been closed since May 2020, is making a comeback this Spring, as a more casual version of the former location. Guests can expect some of Deluty’s classic dishes like Pasta Bolognese and Stella’s Meatballs as well as new items like Matzo Ball Soup, Potato Pancakes, and a Veggie Pocket — -all of which will also be available for takeout. “I’m excited to bring a taste of Stella along with new menu items to Newton. Since closing the South End location during the pandemic, I’ve been thinking about doing a smaller more intimate version. We are fortunate to have many loyal customers from over the years, it’s going to be awesome to reconnect and see many of them soon,” says Chef Deluty. The new restaurant, which will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, will be located at 549 Commonwealth Avenue in Newton— a few blocks from Newton Center.
