Lamb Jam ram-bles on, arriving at the Royal Sonesta on Sunday, April 10th when 20 New England chefs will lock horns in fierce competition for the tasting trophy.
The ewe-packed afternoon starts with a bang (and a strum) when Boston-based rock n’ roll band The Silver Mirrors takes the stage to ram-p up the crowd during the Beats & Eats VIP Hour. From 1:45-3:00pm, lamb groupies can enjoy the jams with standout lamb dishes from rockstar chefs Louis DiBiccari, Gabriel Bremer and Brendan Joy (who’ll duet with East Boston Oysters for an electric surf and turf). All the eats will be backed up by accompanying pours from Lord Hobo Brewing and Narragansett Beer.
The main event keeps the bleat going from 3:00-6:00pm with chefs showing off their culinary chops for a chance at the Lamb Jam trophy. The lineup includes Boston chefs Brian Dandro, Chris Jackson, Tom Borgia, Tim Wiechmann, William Kovel, Michael Sherman, Matt Drummond, Todd Winer, Brian Alberg, Justin Melnick, Cory Seeker, defending champions Tiffani Faison and Dan Raia, and cookers representing Portland, Portsmouth and Providence. In between the eats, guests can get a peek at butcher demos, show off their sheepish side at the photo booth, mix a DIY lamb rub and refill with beer, wine and cider from area beverage pros.
Shear tasty goodness is a sure thing, so snag your tickets online here ($100 each for VIP and $60 each for general admission). Proceeds help support local food rescue non-profit Lovin’ Spoonfuls.
