A Farewell to Dry Times

Celebrate the end of a not-so-fun era on Wednesday, December 5th at The Hawthorne’s Repeal Day party, A Farewell to Bathtub Gin. In honor of the end to those thirteen thirsty Prohibition years, Jackson Cannon and his cocktailing crew are hosting a party filled with post-Prohibition-era drinks, snacks from chef Jeremy Sewall plus a copy of Stephanie Schorow’s book Drinking Boston: A History of the City and Its Spirits, so that you can have a side of history with your beverage. Tickets are available online for $50 apiece (the proceeds from which benefit USBG of New York and supports those affected by Hurricane Sandy), and doors open at 6:31pm (the time the first legal drink was served back in 1933). Don’t get left high and dry. Get your tickets here.
