There are delicious delicacies and then there are white Alba truffles. The elusive, aromatic umami bombs are only available between September and the end of December every year, and if you want to get a taste of this year’s harvest head to Menton for their Chef’s Truffle Tasting Menu. You’ll get five courses from chef Barbara Lynch’s talented team, which highlight the best ingredients of the season, and every plate includes hand-harvested white truffles from the Piedmont region of Italy.
Check out the menu below ($375 per person) with their optional wine pairing ($150) to get your palate ready for courses like Tagliatelle with thyme and Parmesan (paired with 2020 Luigi Giordano Barbaresco “Cavanna”, Piedmont); and Roasted Poussin with sunchoke, parsnip, and romanesco (paired with 2018 Cavallotto Barolo “Bricco Boschis”, Piedmont). There’s even a super decadent chocolate soufflé tart for dessert, and it’s the ultimate dinner for anyone with a taste for the finer things. If five courses is too much, you can still get in on all the fun(gi) by adding truffle shavings to any dish on the regular dining room menu, just talk to your server. Snag a reservation here and break out a truffle-worthy outfit for the occasion. If you have Qs or want to make a reservation by phone you can call 617.737.0099 ext. 1.
