Front Line Family Meals Facebook

Beth Schunke, Director of Operations at Hawkeye Hospitality (Elm Street Taproom, both Five Horses Taverns and Worden Hall), has teamed up with her old pal Sara Sweet Rabidoux-Kelsey of Blind Tiger Tellers and created Front Line Family Meals to provide free, home-cooked food for healthcare workers.

The charitable start-up is donating kitchen space as well as their planning, labor and delivery expertise to take care of the cooking for folks who are taking care of Covid-19 patients. Healthcare workers can sign up online here and then at the end of their shift on their way home, they’ll be able to pick up their individually-packed dinner (at a designated spot) to take home. Dishes include satisfying comfort foods designed to feed 4-6 people (think: mac and cheese, roast chicken, lasagna, chicken pot pie and the like).

They’re starting small (if you think thirty family dinners, three days a week is small) and they could use your help to keep on growing and cooking (and packing and bagging and delivering). To help them continue their efforts, you can donate to the cause online here.
