Southern Pines Supper Club Pop Up

Southern Pines Supper Club

The Forage crew, when they’re not planning out their weekly wine dinners or opening up wine shops in Dedham, is getting ready to host the next round of the Southern Pines Supper Club coming up on Sunday, August 27th. Technically, co-owners Eric Cooper and Stan Hilbert don’t have to do too much – guest chef Matthew Bulloch does the heavy lifting for the monthly pop-up, which explores southern fare by way of an elevated a la carte menu.

Book a table in the cozy dining room or out on the patio to get better acquainted with dishes that came from West Africa, landed on the Sea Islands of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida and made their way up to Philadelphia and onto the presidential menus of enslaved chefs Hemings and Hercules, who cooked for George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

The super seasonal a la carte offerings include plates like slow cooked pepper and tomato gazpacho, deviled crab on toast, New England-style skillet cornbread (for the Yankees), jerk beef, gumbo and more so you’ll have plenty to choose from (though it’s worth noting: the regular Forage menu will not be available). Go ahead and make your reservation online here between 5:00 and 730pm so you don’t miss a single bite.

In the meantime (while you wait for Sunday to roll around), you can scope out the menu below and scroll through the Southern Pines Insta feed to see what Bulloch is working on.
