Punk Rock & Presidential Plates

The Townshend

The Townshend hosts a jam packed President’s Day Weekend with three day’s worth of punk rock, craft cocktails and Commander-in-Chief-inspired eats.

Head for Quincy Center on Friday night (February 16th) for an evening with DJ and cocktail master Brother Cleve, who’ll been spinning some old school vinyl (think: 70s and 80s punk rock classics) and pouring specialty cocktails featuring Tenure English Vodka. The fun starts at 10:00pm.

Over the weekend (Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th), The Townshend pays tribute to Quincy’s founding fathers-ish roots (‘tis the birthplace of John Hancock and Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams) with a period-inspired menu from chef Collin Davis. Sup on dishes like johnny cakes with salted cod, smoked honey butter and trout roe; poached New England salmon with egg sauce, peas and potatoes; and apple pandowdy for dessert, featuring charred apples, French vanilla ice cream and duck fat caramel. Or pick something from the full seasonal menu which will also be available. Bar manager Palmer Matthews will be whipping up apple brandy old fashioneds, made with Laird & Co.’s Old Apple brandy, from America’s oldest distillery and a purported presidential favorite.
