Get a major taste of Italy’s Piedmont region right in Southie at Bar Volpe‘s upcoming Marchesi di Barolo wine dinner on Tuesday, May 16th. Valentina Abbona, whose family has owned and operated the winery since 1920, will be visiting for the night to share a selection of their celebrated varietals. Marchesi di Barolo, one of the first recorded estates to produce wine called Barolo, has been producing Nebbiolo since the early 19th century so they know a thing or two about wine-making.
Chef Karen Akunowicz and her team are putting the finishing touches on a fabulous traditional Italian menu to show off the wines, which are widely considered to be some of the best in the world, including NV Lamberti Prosecco, 2021 Marchesi di Barolo Barbera d’Alba Ruvei, and more (check out a full list of the wines below). Tickets for dinner cost $152.00 each, and you can scoop yours up here. If you have any Qs give the restaurant a call at 617.865.7100 and keep an eye on their IG for menu updates.
