Summer 2011 is the Summer of Riesling. Well, technically, it’s been the Summer of Riesling in New York pretty regularly since 2008, when Paul Grieco of Terroir Wine Bar in the East Village replaced every white wine on his by-the-glass list with a Riesling. Four years later, the madness has spread to Boston, where twenty or so top tier restaurants and retailers have signed on to make this the most Riesling-focused summer the city’s ever seen. Spots like B&G, Bin 26, The Blue Room, Clio, The Elephant Walk, Hungry Mother, Oleana, Rialto, Sel de la Terre, Troquet and UpStairs on the Square will be hosting and participating in more than forty fabulous events – tastings, wine dinners, pairings and specials all revolving around Rieslings.
