Tuscan Wines with Federica Mascheroni

Volpia

Treat yourself to a mini, midweek jaunt to Tuscany by way of the West End at Alcove’s next wine dinner on Thursday, June 8th. Owner Tom Schlesinger-Guidelli invites you to drop by and learn a little bit about the Stianti Mascheroni family and their role in the region’s organic vinicultural movement. This educational evening will, of course, include plenty of food and drink (you can’t learn anything on an empty stomach!). Chef Nicki Hobson is working on the evening’s four-course menu, which will be paired with wines selected and presented by winemaker Federica Mascheroni herself. You can expect bottles from Castello di Volpaia, one of one of the highest-elevation wineries in the Chianti, or Prelius, an organic vineyard in Tuscany’s Maremma region above an ancient coastal lake of the same name. The evening, which costs $175 per person, starts with a meet-and-green reception at 6:00pm followed by dinner. You can just  reserve your spot through OpenTable and get to know these lovely Italian wines.
