Chef Karen Akunowicz – Top Chef cheftestant, James Beard Award-winner and maker of West Broadway’s tastiest Italian eats – is rolling out Sunday brunch to make the most of the waning days of summer and the outdoor dining season. Starting Sunday, September 13th she’ll be enlisting a few friends to spice things up, starting with Fox & the Knife’s own Chef de Cuisine, Molly Dwyer, who’ll be serving an a la carte menu of amped up breakfast sandwiches like the Spicy Boy (green chorizo patty with egg and avocado on a potato bun) and the Basic B (egg with arugula, pickled shallots and goat butter on an English muffin). There’ll be AM-appropriate beverages, too – the boozy kind like mimosas, bellinis and spritzes and the alcohol-free variety like honey coconut iced coffee. Just stroll on over between 10:00am and 2:00pm to pick up take-out or to snag a seat on their first-come, first served patio. And keep an eye out for upcoming chefly guest stars while the al fresco brunching weather holds.
