Radius’ Regional Tasting Series Continues

Spring is in the air and recently appointed chef de cuisine Matthew Audette is making himself right at home in the Radius kitchen. If you haven’t made it in to see how his cooking stacks up (he does have some big, Beard award-winning shoes to fill), book a table for an upcoming Friday night to try the popular Regional Tastings Series. The weekly series features inspired plates paired with Wine Director Daniel Motsinger‘s picks. Each week, from the comfort of either the lounge or the dining room, winers and diners can explore exotic culinary locales in true Radius style. The menu, priced at $65 per person, is available throughout the evening so take a peek through some of the upcoming themes and reserve yourself a seat by calling 617.426.1234.

Friday, May 1stNew England
No need to travel to another continent for distinctive food and wine trends – there are plenty right here in New England, where there are awesome farms with great productions of cool produce and farmhouse cheeses, and a coast rich with oysters and all kind of mouthwatering seafood. Explore some classic New England fare paired with wine from nearby. Expect some beer to be poured too, given all the great local microbreweries.

Friday, May 8thGalicia
For their first foray to Spain, they’ll be showing off the food and wine of the Iberian Peninsula’s northwest coast. Galicia is a unique part of Spain, which will be great for a seafood-centric meal, but further investigation into Galicia’s culinary history reveals food gems such as the empanada and Tarta de Santiago (a classic almond tart). The white wines made here are delicious and rich: be prepared for cameos from Albarino and Godello.

Friday, May 15thProvence
Provence, plain and simple, is known for its phenomenal cuisine – ratatouille, bouillabaisse and a yummy little something called aioli, all hail from the region. The wines from this region come in all three colors: white, pink and red, and all of them are made for the simple, but very flavorful food of Provence

Friday, May 22nd – Drink Pink
It is time to put aside all your misperceptions of pink-hued wines and find out just why Rosé reigns supreme. They’ll match the menu with some of their favorite rosés: sparkling, still, sweet and dry. You’ll be a believer before you know it.
