If you’re looking for the secrets of smoking the perfect brisket, or just a big fan of world-class BBQ, grab tickets for a pair of events at The Smoke Shop in Assembly Row with champion pitmaster, book author, barbecue judge, teacher, and barbecue eating expert Chris Prieto of Prime BBQ.

On Saturday, October 28th, the Knightdale, North Carolina chef will be leading an intensive hands-on class from 11:00am to 2:00pm to show you how to make his award-winning prime brisket, and share some pointers on butchering, rubbing, and smoking. You’ll make super flavorful chopped BBQ turkey with a glaze and North Carolina Tribute Sauce, and even get to take home a recipe packet so you can practice your pitmaster skills on your family. In between all the meat courses you’ll get to sample some cocktails as you learn all about Maker’s Mark with a Beam Suntory brand ambassador. The class costs $180 per person and includes all your ingredients, the instruction, a Maker’s Mark cocktail, and of course you’ll get to eat all the delicious food. Grab a ticket here.

If you’re a little more hands off when it comes to the grill, come by in the evening instead for a Pitmaster Dinner Series supper from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Prieto will be on hand to give you all the insider info on how he built his BBQ empire, plus you’ll get a stellar plate of ‘cue for just $70 per person. Grab a ticket here and head to Somerville for a family style dinner designed by Prieto and award-winning pitmaster and owner Andy Husbands – the menu features a blend of regional BBQ styles stretching from Texas to North Carolina and Kansas City. Naturally there’ll also be plenty of whiskey available a la carte from The Smoke Shop’s impressive lineup of more than 200 bottles.
