If you need a night out — like, all the way out — head up to Portland, Maine on Thursday, October 26th for a night at Bar Futo for the next Roundtable gathering of regional chefs. Some of the area’s best chefs and tastemakers will be gathering in Old Ports starting at 5:30pm to talk about sustainability, dispel a few myths, and highlight local folks who are doing the good work of making our food systems better. Chef Tracy Chang (PAGU), Jordan Rubin (Bar Futo, Mr. Tuna), Kate Hamm & Jason Eckerson (Fish & Whistle), Ian Driscoll (Bar Futo), Nikhil Naiker (Nimki, and Ilma Lopez (Chaval, Ugly Duckling) will be cooking up six appetizers and six main dishes to highlight specific ingredients that are sustainably sourced, and they’ll be on hand with other local educators, fishmongers and artists to discuss renewable and regenerative practices.

Dinner costs $125 per person and you can add an optional beverage pairing or a la carte drinks; grab a spot here (they’re selling out quickly). Roundtable is a series of gatherings that was co-founded by Chang to bridge the gap between local organizations and locals to model how restaurants can continue to serve as meeting points for a thriving community. Check out more info on PAGU’s Instagram, and give Bar Futo a call if you have any Qs at 207.956.7373.
