La Cocina is a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities by fostering independent businesses that help both their owners and patrons thrive, and they’re coming to Menton for a night of heartwarming stories and hearty food on Sunday, June 23rd. Chef Barbara Lynch has invited La Cocina’s executive director Caleb Zigas and two entrepreneurs, Guisell Osorio from Sabores del Sur and Dilsa Lugo of Los Cilantros to her restaurant for the release of their new book, La Cocina: Recipes in Pursuit of the American Dream. The book features more than 40 stories from the women who have attained economic freedom and helped fortify their communities through food, and you’ll hear some of them while you enjoy a four-course meal that will showcase recipes from the book. Tickets for this special occasion are $230 including food, drink, tax, gratuity, and a copy of La Cocina to take home with you. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the nonprofit; click here to reserve your seat.
