Hamantaschen For Ukraine

Pastry chef extraordinaire Maura Kilpatrick and the sweets-making folks at Sofra will be selling boxes of Hamantaschen and donating the proceeds to the Polish Humanitarian Action to help Ukrainian refugees at the Polish border. These lovely triangular sugar cookies, filled with tahini, cocoa and halva, are part of the joyous holiday of Purim, which commemorates the saving of the Jewish people from Haman. It’s a time for giving, and a time for celebrating bravery in times of struggle so these symbolic (and very tasty) treats are the perfect cookie for the occasion. Starting on Monday, March 7th, boxes will be for sale daily in the cafe and online here for pre-order and pick-up. Keep an eye on their Insta for more information.
