‘Tis the season to be jolly – well almost anyway. Start your yuletide preparations a tad early this year and make way to the 17th annual Gingerbread House Competition at the Boston Christmas Festival. This sweet part of the weekend long holiday fest will feature the spicy creations of over 350 candy contractors, not to mention professional pastry chefs like of Molly Hanson (Grill 23), Nicole Coady (Finale) and Mike Geldart (Sportello). The gingerbread houses, which will be on display from noon to 7:00pm from Friday, November 5th through Sunday, November 7th, will all be available for purchase through an online auction which closes Monday, November 8th at noon. All proceeds from the auction go to benefit Share our Strength, so not only do you get a beautiful and delicious creation, you get to help your fellow man and spread peace on earth – now that’s the Christmas spirit.
