Dive into Cocktail History

Chickadee Facebook

History class on a Saturday afternoon? Meh. History class exploring the renaissance of cocktails on a Saturday afternoon in the Seaport? Yeah! This Saturday, April 9th at 3:00pm, Chickadee presents The Cocktail Renaissance in America, 2000 to Present. Led by owner and Beverage Director Ted Kilpatrick, this unique class takes a deep dive into the 20-year story of how well-made cocktails went from obscure and frequently misunderstood to a veritable fixture in gastronomy recognized by the James Beard Foundation. Guests will enjoy five (or six) half cocktails paired with snacks from chef John daSilva and his kitchen crew while they trace the roots of the cocktail movement back to a tiny New York City club, to a dive bar in Cambridge, and all the way to today’s flourishing and quickly growing national cocktail empire. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased online via Resy. If you work up an appetite doing all that learning, stay after school for dinner in the bar and enjoy Chickadee’s seasonal menu marrying New England ingredients with Mediterranean inspiration.
