Boston takes a cue from the Brits this season with a smattering of afternoon teas fit for the gentry. Teddy Bear, Afternoon and Holiday Teas are all available at The Taj—on Saturdays and Sundays, Afternoon Tea happens from 1:00-4:30pm in the chandeliered and mirrored French Room overlooking Newbury Street. Enjoy silver trays, fine china and “T” (touted as the finest loose-leaf tea in the world) while a harpist plays. Can’t make it on the weekend?  Holiday Tea happens daily for the month of December—same deal, but the harp gets swapped out for a violin. And for those with little ones, try the Teddy Bear Tea, an afternoon affair that features storytelling by Mrs. Claus, letters to Santa, cookie decorating, face painting and a pianist.  Kids are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or a toy to donate to a gift drive.
