Moon Bar Debuts

Moon Bar

If you’ve been meaning to get over to Mooncusser to check out chef Carl Dooley’s highly acclaimed tasting menus, now you have the perfect excuse to dabble in just a taste or two at the all new Moon Bar that’s just opened on the main floor. Tucked into the street level of the unique triangular-shaped eatery at 304 Stuart Street, the new lounge features small plates and stiff cocktails – and it’s just steps from all the goings-on in the bustling Back Bay.

Featuring palm tree-painted walls, pink flamingo bar cushions and tropical wallpaper, Moon Bar is a bit of an urban oasis to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for an hour or two. The succinct menu is divided into “cold stuff” like Mahi Mahi Ceviche and Green Mango Salad, “hot stuff” like Sweet Potato Samosas or a Lamb Burger with Vermont Cheddar, and “sweet stuff” like Banana Ice Cream with dulce de leche wafers, so you can mix and match your snacks to get the perfect little cocktail-sized feast (check out the menu below). Chef de cuisine Nelson Whittingham, who has worked with Dooley at Mooncusser for the past three years, oversees the open kitchen, and Jake Smith (formerly of UNI) oversees the lively bar program that shares the spice rack, fruits and juices from the kitchen.

Moon Bar is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 to 10:00pm. Keep your eye on Mooncusser’s socials (FB and IG) for menu updates and give them a call at 617.917.5193 if you have any Qs.
