It’s Go Time for the Koji Club

Boston’s first sake bar, The Koji Club, is set to open tonight – Thursday, February 10th – at Allston-Brighton’s new Charles River Speedway marketplace.

Helmed by Advanced Sake Professional Alyssa Mikiko DiPasquale, who came up through the ranks at Cushman Concepts (o ya, Hojoko and Bianca), The Koji Club has been spreading the sake love by way of pop-ups around Boston and its virtual platform for many months now but as of this evening, there’ll be a real live brick-and-mortar bar at which you can sip, sup and (sometimes) sing karaoke.

The menu features a curated selection of craveable, sake-friendly snacks like seasonally-changing cheese and charcuterie boards, miso soup, sesame spiced olives and a forthcoming collaboration with their friends and neighbors at Super Bien – a Japanese curry empanada that uses DiPasquale’s own curry recipe.

The Koji Club (525 Western Avenue) will be open Wednesday-Friday from 5:00-11:00pm and Saturday from 12:00-11:00pm to start, and with ticketed tastings on Sundays (including a couple Valentine’s Day tastings coming up in the not-too-distant future). Keep an eye on their website and socials for additional info and updates.
