Early Evening Eats at Estragon

Reviving a fun (and affordable) way of dining out, chef Alex Castagneto welcomes guests to drop by Estragon at 5:30pm Monday through Thursday to snack on his elaborate spread of pinxtos for just a buck apiece. Eat as many of the mini, tooth-picked, open-faced sandwiches as you like, when it’s time to pay up, just present your tooth picks and you’ll be charged accordingly (a dollar per). That’s the way they do it in the old tapas bars of Spain – and to make it even more interesting – the fun only lasts until the last pintxo is gone. Head over early so you don’t get shut out.
