In the spirit of the impending holiday season, the folks at Community Servings are asking for your pie buying support at their annual Pie in the Sky Thanksgiving fundraiser. They’re hardly asking a lot – all you have to do is buy a pie – you don’t even have to eat it (but why on earth wouldn’t you when they come in delicious seasonal flavors like apple, pecan, pumpkin, sweet potato and even diabetic apple). More than 150 chefs from Boston area restaurants, caterers and hotels are already signed on to do their part – the baking part, that is – spots like Lineage, EVOO, Casablanca, Chiara, Top of the Hub and Turner Fisheries, just to name a few. So, place your order before Wednesday, November 19th and your pie will be ready for pick up (at one of 40 designated pie pick up locations) on Wednesday, November 26th. Proceeds from each $25 pie help Community Servings provide healthy, home-delivered meals for individuals homebound with acute life-threatening illnesses.
